High Desert Art Fair 2027 invites independent publishers, art book presses, magazines, booksellers, and editorial projects to join the inaugural HDAF Publisher Section, taking place March 13–14, 2027 in California’s High Desert.
Created as an alternative to the traditional convention center art fair model, High Desert Art Fair brings together contemporary art, publishing, music, hospitality, and cultural programming for an immersive weekend shaped by the landscape and creative communities of the desert.
The 2026 edition welcomed more than 4,000 visitors and received coverage from the LA Times, ARTnews, The Observer, The Art Newspaper, Condé Nast Traveler, and others. Our audience brings together new and established collectors, artists, curators, gallerists, designers, musicians, and the broader creative community from Los Angeles, Palm Springs, the High Desert, and beyond.
For 2027, HDAF is bringing books into the heart of the fair with a dedicated Publisher Section inside the Barn at the Pioneertown Motel.
This is not intended to be a traditional book fair. We want the Barn to be a place for discovery, conversation, and exchange, bringing the people making great books together with an audience that wants to find them.
Bring new releases, artist books, photography books, magazines, limited editions, or something unexpected. Meet new collectors, discover other publishers, and spend two days in the desert alongside artists, galleries, and the larger HDAF community.
Publisher participation is $500 for the entire weekend. Each participant receives a six-foot table in the Barn to set up, display, and sell their books and publications on Saturday and Sunday.
Participating publishers will also have the opportunity to sign up to host book signings during the fair, giving you a chance to bring authors and artists into the Barn and create another reason for people to discover your table.
Joining is simple. Click below, complete the registration form, and submit your $500 table fee to confirm your place in HDAF 2027.
Space is limited and tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the Barn is full, registration will close.
